Welcome to Royal Alpaca Farm!

By 1850; the inhabitants of the burgeoning metropolis of Utica,
Wisconsin decided that they needed a post office. The town fathers got together and purchased a small parcel near downtown and built the first post office in the State of Wisconsin. Complete with sliding glass windows for carriage service the building wouldn’t be complete without the pigeon holes into the messenger box that has a trap door above the built-in counter for early air mail.

The post office was outfitted with a horse and buggy for deliveries.
The postmaster slept with his horse in an adjacent horse barn until
he married in 1853 when the town built him a modest two story federal
architecture home. That structure has been expanded over the years
and is now a part of our eclectic home.

We have spent many years developing our line of Royal Bullmastiff
dogs and we were looking for a place to continue or hobby when we
bought this farm. We were looking for a livestock choice that could
be profitable when Denyse found out about alpacas. The attraction
was immediate as many farmers will tell you and the income potential
meant that we could both consider semiretirement much earlier. We
researched the alpacas and the market for three years prior to buying
our first package of alpacas.

The first post office in the state of Wisconsin and the old horse
barn now house alpacas on our farm and we couldn’t be happier!

Welcome to Royal Alpacas!!!
